Samuel Francis, Ph.D., R.I.P., held a doctorate in history from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was a nationally syndicated columnist as well as editor-in-chief of Citizens Informer, political editor of Chronicles, and associate editor for books for the Occidental Quarterly. Among other works, he authored Beautiful Losers: Essays on the Failure of American Conservatism (University of Missouri Press, 1994), Revolution from the Middle (Middle America Press, 1997), Thinkers of Our Time: James Burnham (Claridge Press, 1999), and Ethnopolitics: Immigration, Race, and the American Political Future (Representative Government Press, 2003). He died unexpectedly in early 2005, and will be sorely missed.
