Edward Peters, J.D., J.C.D., majored in political science at Saint Louis University, and has a law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. He earned his licentiate (1988) and doctorate (1991) in Canon Law at the Catholic University of America School of Religious Studies. As a canon lawyer he has served for years in a variety of diocesan and appellate tribunals, and in May, 2001, became a charter member of the faculty of the Institute for Pastoral Theology in Ypsilanti, Mich., teaching canon law, liturgy and sacraments, canonical structures, and ecclesiastical Latin.
